4. Notre Dame beats Virginia in women’s warmup

Notre Dame and Virginia, ranked No. 6 and No. 7 in the Soccer America Preseason Women’s Top 25, traveled to Traverse City, Mich., for an exhibition last night.

Jill Krivacek and Susan Pinnick each had a goal and an assist in leading the Irish past the Cavs, 3-0. Both teams were playing minus several key veterans with the U.S. U-20 national team in Russia.

All five of Notre Dame’s freshman signees had impressive debuts, with each logging significant minutes (four as starters). Virginia managed only one shot on goal, midway through the second half.
