By Will Kuhns, Senior Editor BEST GOALS: With 22 to choose from, we could not narrow it down to one. San Jose's Dwayne DeRosario and Columbus' John Wilmar Perez had equally devastating strikes, while Josh Wolff's free kick was a beauty. Perez hit his on a full volley as a short clearance fell to him just outside the box. He thrashed it into the far corner of the net for the final tally in the Crew's 3-1 win against D.C. United. Nick Rimando, presumably screened, merely stood befuddled. DeRosario's came in a 2-1 losing effort in Dallas, but his knuckling rocket off the dribble from about 21 yards was a marvel. Like Perez, DeRosario found the low side netting, but it was hit with such force that a sprawling Matt Jordan did not come much closer to touching it than the static Rimando did on Perez's shot. Wolff bent a free kick just inside the post from well outside the box and Ezra Hendrickson roofed a shot from close range to spark the Galaxy's win over Colorado. HOME-FIELD DISADVANTAGE: Entering this week, road teams had won less than 27 percent of the games this season, yet all but one visitor was victorious in Week 17. Kansas City won away from home for the first time this season and Columbus won in D.C. for just the second time in team history. Chicago and Los Angeles also picked up three points on the road. HOME AGAIN: Attackers returning from the World Cup are getting back into the MLS flow. Brian McBride scored twice against D.C. United and has four goals and one assist in three post-Cup matches. Wolff scored twice and set up fellow Cup teammate DaMarcus Beasley for the overtime winner in the Fire's 3-2 comeback win over the Metros. Cobi Jones assisted on all three Galaxy goals in a 3-1 defeat of the Rapids. His curling cross from the left side that Danny Califf headed into the net was superb. DYNAMITE DEBUT: A day after officially signing with Dallas, Irish midfielder Ronnie O'Brien came on for the Burn in the 69th minute against San Jose. O'Brien's first touch was a clever nutmeg of Ramiro Corrales along the right sideline and before scoring in the 87th minute, he bent a 23-yard shot on goal that keeper Joe Cannon parried over top. Isolated against Wade Barrett by a Ronald Cerritos pass, O'Brien changed his angle just enough to sneak a shot past his mark and off Cannon's right hand for an insurance goal the Burn ultimately needed.
