The United States will play its first international match since the World Cup when it hosts El Salvador Nov. 17 at Washington's RFK Stadium (TV: ESPN, live, 3 pm ET).

''The 2002 World Cup was obviously very successful for us, but now we must begin the next four-year cycle of building a team capable of qualifying for the World Cup in Germany in 2006,รถ said U.S. coach Bruce Arena. ''I anticipate looking at many players over the next year, and the match against El Salvador will provide an opportunity to get a first look at some new faces.''

The United States holds an 8-1-4 lifetime advantage against El Salvador and has never lost a meeting on home soil. The Americans beat El Salvador, 4-0, at the Gold Cup in January.
