CONCACAF Champions Cup Quarterfinal, Second Leg Kansas City vs. Santos Laguna (Mexico) Wednesday, 7:00 pm CT TV: none. First-leg result: Santos Laguna 2, Kansas City 1 In the first leg, Eduardo Lillingston scored twice for Santos before Gary Glasgow struck for the Wizards, who need a two-goal win to put the aggregate score in their favor. (Away goals are not used for a tiebreaker. If the game is tied on aggregate after regulation time, golden-goal overtime will follow. If there is no overtime goal, penalty kicks will decide.) After beating Kansas City twice in last year’s Merconorte Cup, Santos takes a three-game winning streak against the Wizards into tonight’s match. Santos is currently fourth in the overall standings in Mexico’s Verano championship and has qualified for the playoffs. “They’ll come out and try to end the game in the first 30 minutes,” Wizards midfielder Kerry Zavagnin told the Kansas City Star. “That’s how they play. If we can withstand the pressure they deliver to us and go into half even or ahead, we have a very good chance of winning this game.”
