Sam Khazai of Madison, Wis. asks: I was wondering where IranÆs standing was in terms of World Cup qualifying. Where can I find a reliable Web site that will keep me posted on how my favorite team is doing? Mike Woitalla: Sam, you can get standings, scores and scorers for Asian World Cup qualifying on our Web site in the World Cup section. (Iran cruised to its first-round group victory by outscoring Tajikstan and Guam 21-0 and joins nine other group winners in the next round. Two teams from that round qualify and the two next best finishers play off against European teams.) As far as keeping close tabs on Iran, there are a host of Web sites to choose from. Three that come to mind are http://irankicks.com/, http://www.persianfootball.com/ http://www.iransportspress.com/. All three are English-language sites and all three provide links to many more Iranian soccer sites, including sites in Farsi.
