D.C. United needs to beat Guatemala’s Comunicaciones tonight at RFK Stadium by five goals in order to advance to the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions Cup. The Guatemalans beat D.C. United, 4-0, in the round-of-16 first leg last week in the series that will be decided on aggregate goals. If Comunicaciones scores, United would need to win by six goals to overcome the away-goal tiebreaker. “We’re going to go out and we’re going to enjoy ourselves and we’re going to go ‘hell-for-leather.’ We’re going to go at their throats, and we’re going to try to score goals,” D.C. United coach Ray Hudson said. Comunicaciones coach Carlos Miloc said, “At no time have we relaxed or grown comfortable with the first-leg advantage. We’re not going to defend, we’re going to be careful and mark in the zone, but we are also equally looking to win. The desperation to win isn’t with us and therefore my players will be working to assure their pass to the next round.” The game is expected to mark the D.C. debut of Honduran international Milton Reyes.
