Gus Hiddink, coach of U.S. World Cup opponent South Korea, has invited two students into his latest training camp. Hiddink says he was prompted by his team's scoring drought — six goals in nine games this year — to look at the two U-20 internationals. Chon Jyo Guun, 19, plays for Koryo University and Che Song Duct, 18, is still in high school (Deyon). Hiddink is considering them for friendlies against Costa Rica (April 20) and China (April 27). “I'll give them a chance,” Hiddink says. “If they can make impression during this training camp, I'll keep them for the next two friendly matches.” The Korean press is split on the significance of the call-ups. Some believe its a sincere effort to address the scoring problems. Others report Hiddink simply needs numbers at the practices not attended by his foreign-based players.
