Soccer America Executive Editor Mike Woitalla was on hand for the U.S. arrival at the San Pedro Sula airport. U.S. national team coach Bruce Arena called up veteran Preki to replace the injured Claudio Reyna for the match with Honduras Wednesday. Arena recalled Preki, 37, after a strong spring with the Miami Fusion. “I was surprised as anyone,” said Preki, who will back up Clint Mathis. Reyna has not played with Rangers since returning from the USA-Mexico match a month ago. Also out are Eddie Pope (toe injury), Brian McBride (knee injury at Preston North End) and Landon Donovan (broken rib at the U-20 qualifiers in Trinidad). Also called up was D.C. United midfielder/forward Chris Albright.
