April Heinrichs and Jillian Ellis coached the U.S. under-21 national team to a 5-0 win over Ellis’ UCLA squad at the ARCO Olympic Training Center on Feb. 19 in Chula Vista, Calif. The United States got goals from California’s Laura Schott, Nebraska’s Meghan Anderson, Florida’s Abby Wambach, UCLA’s Mary-Frances Monroe and BYU’s Aleisha Cramer. Monroe, who played the first three years of her college career at Connecticut, has transferred to UCLA. Krista Boling and Stephanie Rigamat, U-21s who play for UCLA, played one half for each team.
