The New England Revolution opened its Costa Rican tour with a 2-0 win over Santa Teresita F.C. in a closed-door match, Feb. 10, at Heredia Stadium. Jamaican international Wolde Harris scored the opening goal for New England in the 22nd minute, when his header, off a Mauricio Ramos corner kick, was deflected by a Santa Teresita defender into the back of the net. Beasley and Zuniga combined in the 59th minute to set up Sierra for the second goal. Beasley sprinted down the right flank and beat two defenders before sending a low cross to Zuniga. Zuniga one-timed the ball to the far side of the goal, finding Sierra alone in front of the net. New EnglandÆs dominance in the game was not reflected in the scoreline as the Revolution hit the posts or the crossbar on 10 occasions. Particularly unlucky were Zuniga, who hit the post three times and the crossbar once, and forward Jamar Beasley, who hit the post four times. The Revolution will battle Costa Rican Second Division club Belam at Belam Stadium on Feb. 14 as the team continues its seven-game Costa Rican tour. New England Lineup: Causey (Humphreys, 46), Eyre (Janilson, 46), Wright, Dunseth (Downing, 46), Torres (Feller, 46), Alvarez (Parra, 46), Franchino (Allnut, 46), Beasley, Ramos (Sierra, 46), Zuniga, Harris (Dancy, 46).
