Brad Friedel has won his appeal before a tribunal at the British Department of Employment and Education to play in England, allowing him to move from Premier League Liverpool to First Division Blackburn. ôHe is available on a free transfer and is proven quality,” said Blackburn Manager Graeme Souness. “We cannot let an opportunity like this pass us by.ö Friedel played for Souness at Turkish club Galatasaray in 1995-96. He left after Souness left the Istanbul club. He played in MLS with the Columbus Crew before moving to Liverpool, where he spent much of his two and a half years as a backup. Friedel is expected to join Blackburn next week.
