Soccer America associate editor Will Kuhns talked to Bruce Arena, Joe-Max Moore, Josh Wolff and Jeff Agoos after the 0-0 tie between the USA and Costa Rica in Columbus, Ohio. Bruce Arena “I’m disappointed, but I’m not frustrated. I think our guys gave a good performance and I’m confident we’ll get the three points we need in Barbados. It’ll be interesting to see what happens in the remaining spot. … It’s not done, it’s interesting. Joe-Max Moore “Actually, I’m disappointed. It’s not the worst result, obviously, but not scoring any goals for a full match — as a forward you always wish that you could win the game for your team and that just didn’t happen. We unfortunately didn’t get the three points. Josh Wolff “We’re at home, so it’s a little disappointing to get a tie. We didn’t give up any points, we got a point and it puts us in good position when we go down to Barbados. I think we showed in the second half, we came out and we outplayed them.” Jeff Agoos “The Hunts did a great job erecting the stadium and the fans have come out and supported us, so I’d like to see this be one of the main places we play a lot of our games. … This was one of the best crowds we’ve had in this early qualification round.” “I don’t know if it was so much their defense or maybe the combination of their defense and our offense just not being in synch, not being able to create a whole lot of chances. With those two factors, we just weren’t able to get into a rhythm.” “I think defensively, we’ve got some very talented players. [Paulo Wanchope and Hernan Medford] are two class players who can score goals and are dangerous, but I think we did a good job of shutting them down. Not just the back three, but the midfield coming back and helping out.”
