Mike Fisher won the Hermann Trophy as the top men’s college player in 1995, while Shannon MacMillan of Portland took women’s honors.
The winners were announced at ceremonies in Philadelphia at the NSCAA Coaches Convention.
Fisher led Virginia, No. 1 in the country during the regular season, to the semifinals of the NCAA tournament for the sixth time in seven years. Fisher, a midfielder used primarily as a striker in 1995, also led the country in scoring.
MacMillan was instrumental in leading the Pilots to the final of the NCAA Division I final, where they lost to Notre Dame.
