The Washington Warthogs have announced the signing of U.S. women’s national team star Kristine Lilly.
Lilly will begin practicing with the Warthogs on Aug. 21. If she can make the transition from the women’s outdoor game to men’s indoor, she will be activated.
Warthogs coach Jim Gabarra feels she can.
“Kristine is a fine athlete and a tremendous soccer talent,” Gabarra — who is married to Lilly’s U.S. teammate, Carin Gabarra — said. “The entire team will benefit from her international experience and competitive nature.”
