MLS officials have announced that Salvadoran striker Raul Diaz Arce of D.C. United and defender Cle Kooiman of Tampa Bay will be added to the Eastern Conference all-star team. Diaz Arce, who netted four goals in D.C.’s 6-1 victory over Dallas on Sunday, will replace teammate Marco Etcheverry. The Bolivian playmaker will rest after an exhausting schedule with both United and his national team. Kooiman will replace New England Revolution defender Mike Burns, who underwent arthroscopic knee surgery and will not be available to play.
The MLS All-Star game is this Sunday at Giants Stadium.
