Tiffeny Milbrett scored on a pass from Mia Hamm in the 49th minute to give the U.S. a 3-0 lead.
Milbrett’s former Portland teammate Shannon MacMillan sent a ball in to Mia Hamm at the top of the box. Hamm beat the defense towards the endline, and crossed the ball past the penalty spot, where Milbrett knocked it in with her left foot.
