Dear U.S. Soccer fan,
Our U.S. national team needs your support this Sunday, March 16 at 11:30 am at Stanford Stadium as we battle Canada for the rights to participate in the 1998 World Cup in France. This is the most important game for our national team this season and we must win. Bay Area fans have supported us like no other fans before. Please bring your biggest USA flag and cheer us on. For ticket information call 408-985-GOAL.
As a native of the Bay Area I am especially honored to be able to bring my team to my home. I fought hard with the powers that be at US Soccer to play here because I think the loyal soccer fans in the Bay Area have shown us the best support over the years. I was reminded of that when we defeated Costa Rica 2-1 on December 14th at Stanford. I know with you behind us we have our best chance to beat Canada and secure the 3 points we need to qualify for France ’98.
Please forward this e-mail to all your friends. I hope to see you Sunday! Go USA!
Sincerely,
Steve Sampson
