Mas Futbol, a free-distribution bilingual (Spanish-English) magazine debuts April 28 in 12 U.S. cities.

Mas Futbol has a guaranteed distribution of 100,000 primarily through retail businesses, including grocery stores, music shops, video outlets, bars and restaurants. Many Mas Futbol distribution outlets are also ticket sellers for Major League Soccer teams. Soccer America readers receive Mas Futbol as a free monthly insert.

Mas Futbol will be distributed in Chicago, Miami and the 10 MLS cities — including Boston, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, Los Angeles, New York/New Jersey, San Jose/San Francisco, Tampa and Washington DC/Maryland.

“We speak the language of soccer — and have for 25 years,” said Lynn Berling-Manuel, Soccer America publisher and editor-in-chief. “America’s Latino soccer fans demand soccer credibility and expertise, first and foremost. Mas Futbol gives Soccer America a new avenue to fulfill its mission `to serve, develop and support America’s soccer fans.'”

Mas Futbol will cover five primary editorial areas: Latino stars in Major League Soccer; World Cup from a Latin American perspective; the U.S. national teams; Latino issues in American soccer and personalities at all levels of the American game.

Spanish-language soccer journalists from around the nation and the world will serve as the expert contributing staff to Mas Futbol. They will coordinate with Soccer America‘s editors, including Mas Futbol editor Amparo Simon.

“Major League Soccer and World Cup are two editorial areas that really help link the diverse soccer interests in the U.S.,” said Soccer America Senior Editor Mike Woitalla. “We want to better serve knowledgeable soccer fans who appreciate a choice of reading in Spanish or English.”
