El Salvador has rallied with two goals in three minutes and now trails the USA 3-2. Nildeson beat the American offside trap in the 60th minute and latched onto a pass from Israel Castro Franco. He then powered the ball past U.S. keeper Juergen Sommer, who replaced Brad Friedel at halftime. Nildeson was fouled in the box by Peter Vermes in the 63rd minute, and D.C. United striker Raul Diaz Arce converted the ensuing penalty kick.
