Dallas has signed 23-year-old Trinidadian forward Micky Trotman as a discovery player. Trotman comes to the Burn from its A-League affiliate, the New Orleans Storm, where he teamed with fellow Trinidadian Stern John last season. He played collegiately at the University of Mobile, where he was a two-time all-America, and has played for the Trinidad & Tobago U-17, U-18, U-20 and U-23 national teams. “I think that people will be surprised by his ability,” said Dallas coach Dave Dir. “For a first-year player, he should be able to make a big contribution. He’s a proven goalscorer and we look for good things from him.” Trotman is excited at the prospect of playing for Dallas. “Since Major League Soccer was formed, it has been my dream to make it there,” he said. “My dream is being fulfilled.”
