MLS

Eight MLS teams will join the Open Cup in the third round. They are: Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Kansas City, MetroStars, Miami, San Jose and Tampa Bay.

A-League

Six A-League teams have now clinched Open Cup berths. All four Western Conference teams have been decided, with Milwaukee joining El Paso, Nashville and Orange County after defeating Charleston over the weekend. In the Eastern Conference, Rochester, and Hershey are in, with Hampton Roads, Worcester and Staten Island battling for the final two spots. The Vipers need to win both matches this weekend to assure themselves of a place. Should Staten Island finish ahead of Worcester and Hampton Roads, the Wildfire would receive the final Open Cup berth based on superior goal differential. Here are the A-League qualifying standings through June 3. Each A-League team’s first six games count as Open Cup qualifiers. Three points are awarded for a regulation or overtime win, and one point for a shootout win. The top four teams in each conference advance to the Open Cup. Eastern Conference
