The USA scored the most goals in a women's international match in more than six years with a 10-0 blowout of Chinese Taipei at The Home Depot Center.
Abby Wambach recorded her fifth career hat trick and picked up three assists to lead the U.S. effort that saw a three players — Megan Rapinoe, Leslie Osborne and Carli Lloyd — score their first international goals. Rapinoe, one of three collegians to play in the game, scored two goals. Portland teammate Stephanie Lopez and UCLA's Danesha Adams, making her full international debut, also played.
Lindsay Tarpley, who has played predominantly midfield for the national team, made just her third-ever start at forward and also scored two goals in the game, the main event of the 2006 Women's Nike Friendlies.
