The MLS All-Star team's First XI, the players who received the most votes in each position, include five members of the U.S. team that exited in the first round of the 2006 World Cup. Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey, Jimmy Conrad and Eddie Pope, who all saw action in Germany, are joined by Chris Albright, a reserve during the tournament.
The two Americans on the squad who weren't part of the World Cup are second-year D.C. United keeper Troy Perkins and Chivas USA striker Ante Razov, who leads MLS in scoring with 11 goals.
Players were elected by fans, media and MLS coaches, general managers and players. The seven other elected players will be announced on Monday. In addition, Coach Peter Nowak will add five players and MLS Commissioner Don Garber will make two selections for the squad that faces English Premier League champion Chelsea Aug. 5 (6:30 p.m. ET, ESPN) at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Ill.
