Ronald Cerritos, the San Jose Clash’s leading scorer for the past two seasons, has reported to preseason training camp after reaching agreement on his contract with Major League Soccer. Cerritos, who has 25 goals and 22 assists in his two-year MLS career, reached agreement Sunday in San Jose. The 24-year-old standout on El Salvador’s national team joined the Clash in time for both its morning and afternoon workouts Feb. 15 at Coronado High School. “I’m excited to be back with the Clash and I was eager to begin training,” Cerritos said. “I like the things we’ve done with our team. I think it’s going to be a very exciting season.” The Clash, which dropped a 1-0 decision to Colorado on Feb. 14 in its preseason opener, will depart for Mexico Feb. 20 for two weeks of training and games against Mexican First Division clubs in Toluca.
