The Washington Post has reported that the Anschutz Entertainment Group will receive an estimated $33 million for the sale of D.C. United to an ownership group that includes San Francisco real estate developer Victor MacFarlane, former Duke basketball star Brian Davis and Discovery Communications founder John Hendricks, who founded the short-lived Women’s United Soccer Association in 2001.
D.C. United will be introducing the new ownership group at a press conference on Monday.
The Washington Post also reported that D.C. United President Kevin Payne will continue to run the club’s front office.
