The departure of David Beckham from Real Madrid is one of three major changes that Coach Fabio Capello hoped to implement this year. The other two are ageing Brazilian striker Ronaldo and the impetuous but brilliant Antonio Cassano, who can’t seem to get along with authority figures or keep his mouth shut. But while Ronaldo is likely to make a switch to a lesser league, Football Italia reports that Serie A giants Inter and AC Milan could make a summer move for former Roma man Cassano, who’s still just 24. Real Sporting Director Pedrag Mijatovic yesterday confirmed that Inter has inquired about the out of favor striker several times over the last few days, while coach Roberto Mancini has said he would be happy to have the player on his roster. However, Inter isn’t nearly as in need of a striker as its neighbor AC Milan, which has just three senior forwards on its roster. Of the three, Alberto Gilardino is the only one who could even be considered in good form, and it’s no secret that the pressure is on Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti to solve that problem soon. Ancelotti, like Mancini, believes he could handle the player’s intemperate outbursts.
