FIFA.com has an interview with AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf, the only man to have won the UEFA Champions League with three different teams. He’s won the prestigious competition four times, first with Ajax Amsterdam in 1995, then Real Madrid in 1998 and now twice with AC Milan, in 2003 and 2007. Club teammate Paolo Maldini is the only player to have won the competition more times (five, all with Milan).

“At the moment, there is just a complete explosion of emotions,” the Dutchman said of his fourth title, which was particularly special because it “has been a very, very difficult year for us.” He added: “Every time I have won I have experienced different emotions, but they are not ones that you can describe easily…it can only be felt.” Seedorf conceded that the match against Liverpool was difficult for him, since coach Rafael Benitez had clear designs on isolating him. “In that respect, Liverpool succeeded,” he said.

Overall, the season was very successful one for the Dutchman, who was forced into a new forward role by coach Carlo Ancelotti. “I’ve finally been given the chance to play in the position I prefer,” he said, playing alongside Kaka in a role just behind the lone striker. Seedorf said his Brazilian teammate “completely deserves to win the Ballon d’Or. But, believe me, he can improve, he hasn’t reached his maximum yet.” In a separate interview, Kaka heaped glowing praise on Seedorf. “For Milan it’s essential that Clarence plays.”
