[MLS WRAP] Chicago boosted its playoff chances with a win in Columbus. Denilson scored his first MLS goal in FC Dallas’ 2-0 win over woeful Toronto, whose league record scoreless run hit the 732-minute mark. Nate Jaqua hit a hat trick for Houston in its 4-3 win over Real Salt Lake. And in another barn-burner, D.C. United downed New England, 4-2, to add to its first-place lead over the Revs in the East as Luciano Emilio upped his league-leading scoring tally to 18 goals. Los Angeles ended an eight-game winless streak with a 3-1 win over Colorado. Chivas USA remains unbeaten at home after a 3-0 win over the New York Red Bulls.

Paulo Wanchope ran onto 50-yard pass from defender Wilman Conde and scored from 15 yards for the gamewinner in Chicago’s 1-0 defeat of Columbus. The win moved Chicago ahead of the Crew, winless in its last six games, and into a playoff position.

In Dallas, Denilson chipped a penalty kick off the inside post to give Dallas 36th minute lead that Abe Thompson added to with another penalty kick in the 2-0 win. Toronto is winless in its last nine games.

Corey Ashe assisted on all three goals by Jaqua as defending champ Houston solidified its lead in the West with a 4-3 win over Real Salt Lake. The Dynamo led 4-1 until two late Salt Lake strikes.

Alan Gordon, Edson Buddle and Kyle Martino scored for Los Angeles in its 3-1 win over Colorado.

Emilio scored two second-half goals as D.C. United beat New England 4-2 to take a four-point lead in the Eastern Conference. D.C. United, extending its unbeaten streak to eight games, went down 2-1 in the first half when Troy Perkins committed a blooper for the second straight game — Jay Heaps‘ shot trickling between the keeper’s legs and into the net.

Jamie Moreno equalized with his record 110 MLS goal before Emilio’s two strikes.

Cuban striker Maykel Galindo upped his season total to 12 goals with a pair in Chivas USA’s 3-0 win over the Red Bulls, which also fell victim to an Ante Razov from the penalty spot.

Jorge Flores, the 17-year-old who made the Chivas USA team through its Sueno MLS tryout, made his league debut as a 76th minute sub.
