Jamaican youth international O’Brian White scored one goal and added two assists to lead second-ranked Connecticut to a 3-1 win over neighbor Hartford in non-conference play.

White now leads the Huskies with eight goals and four assist for 20 points, twice as many as any other player on the team.

UConn (10-1-0) also got goals from Roberto Sgueglia and Oscar Castillo, their first goals in an UConn uniform.

NOTRE DAME-MICHIGAN (3-0). Ryan Miller led the No. 3 Irish with two goals as they handed the No. 19 Wolverines their first shutout of the season.

Defender Cory Rellas added his first goal of the season in the victory, which gave Notre Dame (7-1-2) an eight-game unbeaten streak.

“Ryan Miller did a tremendous job,” said Notre Dame coach Bobby Clark, “and it was even doubtful if he’d play or not since he got injured over the weekend.”

A key for the Irish was the return of Michael Thomas to the midfield for the first time since the season opener.

SMU-MISSOURI STATE (2-0). The No. 8 Mustangs completely dominated the game, outshooting Missouri State, 27-1, but needed second-half goals from Ben Shuleva (his third goal in two games) and Richard Oliva (tying Brazilian Bruno Guarda for the team lead) to put away the Bears.

UC SANTA BARBARA-UC IRVINE (4-0). The No. 12 Gauchos recorded their second straight 4-0 victory in Big East action. Chris Pontius led UCSB with three goals to give him seven on the season. The game drew 4,402 fans, the largest midweek crowd of the season.

INDIANA-UIC (1-0). The No. 17 Hoosiers won their third straight game thanks to an early second-half goal from midfielder Brad Ring, who Ring cut off a UIC pass in the midfield and scored on a shot from about 25 yards out that left UIC goalkeeper Jovan Bubonja with no chance.

RUTGERS-VILLANOVA (2-1). The No. 23 Wildcats fell behind in the 86th minute when Adam Sternberger scored for Rutgers but rallied to win on goals by Farris Fakhoury with 19 seconds remaining in regulation and Joe Taylor in the 98th minute.
