New U.S. Under-20 women’s national team’s coach Jillian Ellis is conducting her first training camp of the new cycle, running Feb. 4-11 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. The U-20s will be looking to play at the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Chile.
They will play their first international matches of this cycle on a trip to Mexico Feb. 18-23, facing the full Mexican national team in two games. The Tricolores are in preparation for 2007 Women’s World Cup qualifying playoff matches against Japan in March.
Included in Ellis’ camp squad are 2006 Soccer America first-team All-Freshman picks Kristin Arnold (Texas A&M), Gina DiMartino (Boston College) and Nikki Marshall (Colorado) and second-team selections Emily Beans (Colorado College), Kelly Eagan (Villanova) and Becky Edwards (Florida State)
