Maryland midfielder Stephen King, who scored one goal and assisted on three others in Maryland’s 4-1 victory over Virginia Saturday night, is the Soccer America Men’s Player of the Week for games played Oct. 29-Nov. 4.
King, who was also the Soccer America Player of the Week for the first week of the 2007 season, tied a Maryland record by becoming the seventh player to record three assists in a game.
It was King’s 89th start, tying the school record for most starts in a career set by Keith Beach (1995-98).
The Medford, N.J. native now has 12 assists this season to rank second in the country behind Connecticut’s Mike Pezza (14 assists).
