[SERBIA] With millions of dollars exchanging hands on the international transfer market, there’s all kind of opportunities for fraud and embezzlement, as recent cases in Serbia demonstrate.

The Serbian Interior Ministry has issued a warrant for the arrest of Serbian soccer president (FSS) president Zvezdan Terzic on abuse of power charges.

He is accused of pocketing about $840,000 on the transfer of Vanja Grubic to German club Hamburg when he was a director of Belgrade club OFK.

But that pales in comparison to the scheme involving former Yugoslav superstar Dragan Dzajic.

Dzajic, now the Serbian national team general manager, and two other former Red Star officials were arrested last month on charges of skimming more than $9 million off the transfer fee of Goran Drulic to Spanish team Real Zaragoza.
