[MLS] The New York Red Bulls signed Venezuelan defender Gabriel Cichero, a 24-year-old defender who has played for Venezuela’s Deportivo Italia, Bulgaria’s Vihren Sandanski and Uruguay’s Montevideo Wanderers.
“We’re excited to bring Gabriel on board as we head into the final stretch of the season,” said Red Bull Sporting Director Jeff Agoos. “Gabriel has proven himself in a number of leagues that he is a very complete defender and we are confident that he will make an immediate impact.”
Cichero also played four games on loan to US Lecce of the Italian Serie A and has made 10 appearances for Venezuela.
Cichero joins compatriot Jorga Rojas, who joined the Red Bulls last month.
