LSU, No. 17 in the Soccer America Top 25, has had to cancel its Tiger Classic because the LSU Soccer Complex suffered considerable damage from Hurricane Gustav.

The complex lost the press box atop the stands along with fence damage and scoreboard damage.

LSU was scheduled face Kent State Friday and Dartmouth Sunday at the Tiger Classic.

Other facilities on the Baton Rouge, La., campus were affected. Tiger Stadium, home of LSU’s football team, was hit hardest on the west side of the stadium, losing awnings over Stadium Club seating as well as significant glass damage within the structure.

The LSU-Troy football game, originally scheduled to be played in Tiger Stadium Saturday night, has been postponed until Nov. 15. Women’s volleyball events were also canceled.
