Picking up the Ballon d'Or he won last week, Manchester United and Portugal winger Cristiano Ronaldo said at the weekend he is happy with United, despite the summer's thwarted transfer move to Real Madrid.

"It's not the time to talk about other clubs at the moment," Ronaldo said. "I'm happy here [at Manchester United] and I'm going to stay. I hope everything will be good again this year. I feel at home there. I got there when I was very young and I have won individual and team trophies there. But I am ambitious. I have to keep on lifting individual and team trophies."

The player was "visibly moved" at the ceremony as he listened to tributes to his skills. Last year's winner, Brazil and AC Milan forward Kaka, said Ronaldo was a worthy successor. "I like the speed with which he runs with the ball," he said. "He's a fundamental player. I like him a lot."
