In yet another example of “don’t bite the hand that feeds,” Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri put striker David Trezeguet in his place, countering the French forward’s complaints about being substituted out of Wednesday’s 2-2 Champions League draw with Chelsea by comparing him to a “spoiled child.”

“His declarations really bothered me. We try and always keep all that inside the locker room. Independent of mistakes that can be made by a coach, I feel betrayed as a man. I have the utmost respect for him, but evidently he doesn’t for me,” continued Ranieri.

Trezeguet, who is still returning to full fitness after four months off injured, fumed after being replaced by Brazilian forward Amauri in the 80th minute, after which a 10-man Juve lost their 2-1 lead and ended up falling 3-2 on aggregate.
