FIFA handed down a tough four-game suspension and $4,200 fine to Trinidad & Tobago captain Dwight Yorke in response to a red card tirade following his country’s 2-2 draw with El Salvador on Feb. 11.

Having already earned a yellow card in the run of play, Yorke was given a second yellow after making an argument to Mexican referee Marco Rodriguez that reportedly included offensive language at the conclusion of the match that El Salvador had just tied on an extra time equalizer.

The multi-game suspension must be served in official FIFA competitions, meaning Yorke will miss T&T’s next four qualifiers, including an upcoming April 1 match against the USA in Nashville, Tenn.
