FC Delco and PDA won three boys and girls championships, respectively, at the U.S. Youth Soccer Region I Championships in Virginia Beach, Va. The U-18 FC Delco Crunch earned its first trip to the National Championships after seven regional appearances. Sisters Sara Murphy (Wildcats), Erin Murphy (Pride) and Melissa Murphy (Charge) all won titles with PDA. The Wildcats have won four straight regional titles and were the only team to repeat as Region I champion. Maryland’s Bethesda Soccer Club won two boys titles and took second place in three girls age groups. Virginia club Chantilly Inter Milan, the national runner-up in 2001 and 2002, returns to the nationals as U-19 Region I girls champion after a three-year absence.
