As Major League Soccer grows, so does the United Soccer Leagues First Division, with the second-tier league announcing today that with the inclusion of newest expansion franchise FC New York, there will be a total of 13 teams set to compete in the USL-1 in 2010.

In part to offset the loss of longtime teams Seattle (2009), Portland and Vancouver (both 2011) to MLS, the USL-1 welcomes the Austin Aztex and Cleveland City Stars for the upcoming season as well as the return of the old Tampa Bay Rowdies next year.

FC New York is set to play at Hofstra University’s 13,000-seat James M. Shuart Stadium in Nassau County.
