[BRAZIL] Having scored 10 goals in 13 games for Corinthians since returning from a one-year knee-injury layoff, two-time world champ Ronaldo could be set for a national team comeback.

Ronaldo, a member of Brazil’s 1994 World Cup winning squad and the hero of its 2002 World Cup title win, suffered the third serious knee injury of his career while playing with AC Milan in February 2008. He returned to action last March, with Brazilian club Corinthians

“Every player who is active and dreams of playing in the national team is being observed,” Brazil coach Dunga told AFP. “We have to wait until May 21.”

On that date, Dunga will announce Brazil’s roster for its next World Cup qualifying games and the Confederations Cup.

“Ronaldo never stopped scoring goals, and I believe Ronaldo can improve even more,” Dunga said. “Since 2006, this is the first time he has a sequence of matches like this, so the tendency is to get even better. In 2006 I had an opinion of him, two months ago I had another, and now I have a different one. But there is still a year to go until the World Cup, so lets see.”

Brazilian media have been lobbying Dunga to call up the 32-year-old Ronaldo.
