[OFF THE POST] French players had the names on their jerseys written in Braille for Wednesday’s friendly in Saint-Etienne against Nigeria, which won, 1-0, to mark its first ever win over France.

The team was marking the 200th anniversary of French inventor Louis Braille’s birth. Braille was blinded at age three and later invented the system used by the blind for reading and writing. The jerseys will be sold at an auction to raise money for the blind.

Joseph Akpala scored for Nigeria in the 32nd minute.
