Guus Hiddink declared that he wants to manage a Premier League club again in the future but admitted that it won’t necessarily be Chelsea, here he had a run on an interim basis last season.
“I will be back,” the former Australia, South Korea and Netherlands boss told English daily The Sunday Mirror . “Chelsea seems to be OK now as a club. Maybe they don’t need me anymore!” he quipped. “But my love for England and football in the Premier League has grown massively because of three-and-a-half beautiful months.”
Hiddink ended his stint at Chelsea with an FA Cup title, in a 2-1 win over Everton at Wembley. Although Chelsea players and officials wanted to hire Hiddink on a more permanent contract, Hiddink proved a man of his word by dutifully returning to Russia to concentrate on his job as national team coach.
