It was a mixed night for Liverpool hero Pepe Reina. After the 24-year-old Spanish goalkeeper guided his team to the Champions League final with two fantastic saves in a penalty kick shootout, Reina returned home to find his house had been robbed. Among the missing items, were a Bang & Olufsen entertainment system, some jewelry, paperwork and his Porsche Cayenne, which was later found burnt out in the city’s Fleetwood Park at 5:30 in the morning. According to the police report, Reina’s home was burgled between 7 p.m. and 12:45 a.m., when Reina was playing in the Champions League semifinal at Anfield.

Reina is the latest in a string of (serial?) burglaries of professional soccer players in Liverpool. Teammates Jerzy Dudek, Daniel Agger, who scored the lone goal in last night’s semifinal, Peter Crouch, Florent Sinama-Pongolle and Everton’s Andy Van der Meyde were all robbed last year.
