After some uncertainty, Diego Maradona announced Argentina's starting lineup when it faces archrivals Brazil on Saturday. The two-time world champions will go with: Mariano Andujar, Javier Zanetti, Nicolas Otamendi, Sebastian Dominguez, Gabriel Heinze, Maximiliano Rodriguez, Javier Mascherano, Juan Sebastian Veron, Jesus Datolo, Lionel Messi and Carlos Tevez.
Pundits speculated that Maradona might use veteran striker Martin Palermo in place of Tevez. In form players Lisandro Lopez of Lyon, Sergio Aguero of Atletico Madrid and Ezequiel Lavezzi of Napoli were also alternatives.
Maradona affirmed his confidence against Brazil. He said that his team won't "hide anything" but will attack the Brazilians with all its "might." "We have to go out to suffocate Brazil, to look for it [the result], to keep them in their goal, and to be careful of Kaka, Robinho, Luis Fabiano. For them not to break us on a counterattack, to be very careful of rebounds."
