[OFF THE POST] Burnley fan Jason Taylor lives around the corner from the home stadium of archrival Blackburn Rovers. But when the teams meet at Ewood Park in their derby game next month, he’ll have to travel more than 50 miles to see the game because of restrictions on away fans. Police are requiring Burnley fans to meet at its stadium, Turf Moor, and travel from there by bus to Ewood Park.
That means Taylor will have to drive 13 miles to Turf Moor, take the bus to Ewood and back, then drive home.
“I’ll be getting up at 7:30 am for a game four minutes away,” said Taylor. “I’m very frustrated at these measures which are totally over the top. I’ll spend the day in the car, the coach and on the motorway.”
