[AMERICANS ABROAD] Manchester City dropped points for only the second time this season when it was held to a 1-1 tie by Aston Villa, whose keeper Brad Friedel contributed by coming off his line to snuff an Man City opportunity at the feet of Emmanuel Adebayor.
Man City, which spent nearly $200 million on players in the offseason, had suffered just one loss, 4-3 to Manchester United, this season and sits in fourth place. Aston Villa is in seventh place.
