[MLS] D.C. United, which is struggling to win a playoff spot, has lost midfielder Santino Quaranta for the rest of the season because of a foot injury that sidelines him for four to six months.
The 24-year-old Quaranta, who has two goals and six assists in 22 appearances, ruptured the plantar plate in his left foot’s first metatarsal and must undergo surgery.
