French star Thierry Henry committed his future to Arsenal two days after it lost to Barcelona, 2-1, in the Champions League final. Henry signed a four-year extension with the Gunners, ending speculation heÆd join Barcelona next season. Here are three reasons why he says heÆs staying.
LONDON. ''I love everything about the club and my life. I regard London as my hometown.
ENGLISH FANS. ''The love I get from the fans is amazing and that even includes some people who are not Arsenal supporters which is difficult to ignore. It is difficult to leave a country like England because the passion for the game is just the best. The stadiums are always full for every game and that is definitely not the case when you look at other countries like Spain and Italy. This is the best country to play football in. I know I haven't played in Spain and now I never will because this is my last big contract.ö
ARSENAL TEAMMATES. ôThis team has shown me that we don't have anything to worry about. We had to play against Barcelona in the Champions League final with only 10 men, but we can still be proud about how we played even though we lost. They reassured me of the one thing I really wanted to know which was how far we could go. But they showed me on Wednesday night they have the heart and a lot of quality. I made my decision with my heart because I really feel part of Arsenal.''
