The U.S. national team arrived a day late in Costa Rica for its World Cup qualifier on Saturday because its flight was diverted to Panama because of bad weather in Costa Rica.

The team was unable to stay in Panama City because visitors to the XIX Latin American Poultry Congress had booked up all the hotel rooms.

The U.S. contingent spent the night an hour away from the airport, at Gamboa jungle resort, where it arrived at 11:30 pm and left early in the morning for its flight to San Jose, Costa Rica.
