Jenny Benson had an assist as FC Energy Voronezh routed Nika, 9-0, Tuesday in Russian Supreme League action.

Benson, a U.S. women's national team pool player who starred for the WUSA's Philadelphia Charge, set up Natalia Zinchenko's 17th-minute goal to give Energy (2-0-0) a 2-0 advantage. Zinchenko scored twice in the win and has four goals in two matches; Russian World Cup forward Elena Danilova also tallied twice.

Benson played 90 minutes at left back, as she did in Energy's season-opening win Saturday over Rossiyanka.

Sweden-based goalkeeper Hope Solo, who posted shutouts in Kopparbergs/Goteborg's first two Damallsvenskan matches, has been called into the U.S. women's national team's Olympic Residency for a two-week ''block'' later this month, U.S. coach April Heinrichs revealed.

If Solo — a Universdity of Washington All-American who was Benson's Charge teammate last year — impressed Heinrichs' staff, she could be offered a Residency contract and remain in Southern California through the Olympics.
